New Album Out Now!

Jurgens new album Rhombus is released in late 2020.
It is Jurgens fourth album as a leader, filled with compelling guitar work. Already Rhombus has received great reviews in The Netherlands, most notably in Gitarist (‘fresh fusion’ … ’strong production and band’), Music Maker (‘a fusion album to show off with’) and webzine Maxazine (‘a more than excellent album’) .
Order Rhombus in the webshop, buy on iTunes or listen on Spotify.

Due to the Corona outbreak, Jurgen had a lot of time on his hands to fine-tune the guitar tracks, sounds and solos on the recording. Jurgen also took the time to work on his technique and improvisational skills, all of which add to the high level of musicianship on display.
Giving much appreciated support are once again Tico Pierhagen on keys, Hugo den Oudsten on bass guitar and Willem Smid on the drums. Percussionist Gijs Anders van Straalen has a prominent role on a couple of songs aswell.

The band played a release concert on October 4th and filmed it. Be sure to watch the footage on Youtube.

Rhombus: recording the album

In the autumn of 2019 we started working on the album Rhombus.
On September 30 and October 1 we recorded the basic tracks for ten new songs.
We worked at Exalto Studio’s in Haarlem, NL with house engineer Bart Wagemakers and I brought along my long time associate-engineer Tom Gelissen.
In the spring of 2020 my freelance activities were completely cancelled, due to the Corona-crisis. This gave me the time to work hard on the new album. Because of this the album has become rich and varied en I took the chance to dig deep on solo’s en production. I added lots of layers to the album – thanks to my Line6 Helix I got the opportunitiy to record silently at home.

Never waste a good crisis!
